To insure absolute surface uniformity,
S&S pours their glass onto a bed of mercury. Each piece of glass is perfectly
flat and optically pure. We use only 20 mm / 3/4” thick glass in our furniture
range. This extremely thick glass is unusual in the furniture industry, but it
guarantees a high load capacity and accentuates the elegant design of fine audio
and
video components.

The pedestal and top elements are from dimensionally stable,
faultless wood set within the rectangular plan. The side
walls, front doors and rear panels made from pure 10 mm
thick glass set up the self-supporting, elegant body.
Glass shelves, held precisely in position by high-strength
stainless steel tensioning cables, bear even the weight
of heavy audio-system components. The shelves permit step-less
placement throughout the total length of the tensioning
cables.
Leveling the shelves with this patented system is very easy.
Cable blocks hold the shelves securely at any desired height.
